Our Process

Money is not a goal in itself. It's for something, for doing things, for making things, for living life. So the way you save, invest, and spend your money should be in service of those goals. These goals look different at different stages of life, so your financial thinking should too.

That's why we are here for everybody at every stage of life.

What you can expect

Online only

Our meetings happen online in the comfort of your living room or wherever you do your finances. It'll be like a home visit from your financial advisor. With our video conferencing tools, we'll work face to face and also be able to screen share so that we can work together on your online accounts. We'll teach you how to work with your accounts as needed, help you make transactions yourself, and make sure you walk away more confident and empowered in your financial life.

1. First meeting: A time to listen

Every relationship begins with a first meeting. We'll spend a half hour together, free of charge, to get to know each other a bit and see if there is a further working relationship to be had. With deliberate listening and practical kindness, we'll start to get a sense of where you are in your life and where you'd like to be heading financially. From here, together, we'll set a course for subsequent meetings.

2. Planning: Getting the picture of your life and designing a roadmap.

To develop the kind of working relationship we are looking for, we'll have an initial course of three meetings, roughly one month apart.  We will first get a picture of your life, your goals, dreams, and hopes. Then we'll get a picture of your financial history and current situation.  From these, we'll propose a course that will get you from here to there with concrete steps for you to take as we walk beside you.

At each meeting you will find us studiously prepared, with your story, history, hopes, and goals fresh on our minds. We'll have ideas and options for you to consider that fit who you are and what your life is like. Together, over a period of three to four months, we will lay out a path that works best for your short-term needs and your long-term goals.

3. Guidance as needed: A compass to keep you on course

After your course is charted and you're walking the path, you decide how to continue.  Whether it’s an annual financial checkup, special project consultation, or an annual retainer relationship that includes ongoing financial planning and investment advice with quarterly meetings, we are here to help you in whatever way works best.

With the option to schedule additional meetings on an hourly basis available, it's easy for you to know exactly where you are on your financial path -- and, with that knowledge, to stay focused on your financial goals.
